PEOPLE

Ensure diverse voices and rising stars, regardless of financial means, can participate in our programs.

In the last 70 years, more than 36,000 people from over 170 countries have come to our historic home – Schloss Leopoldskron – to take part in our programs. We believe that creativity thrives on diversity and innovation blooms at intersections. By engaging difference and convening individuals with rich experiences and diverse perspectives, we challenge our Fellows – those who attend our programs and sessions – to break out of their silos and collaborate on new initiatives.

Through Inspiring Leadership: The Campaign for Salzburg Global Seminar, we will invest in the following:

SALZBURG GLOBAL IMPACT FELLOWSHIPS
$750,000 ($75,000 PER FELLOW)

Building on 75 years of leadership and network development experience, the Salzburg Global Impact Fellowship will connect, support and empower a new generation of diverse leaders.

This dynamic year-long fellowship program will provide participants with opportunities to build their capacity as emerging global leaders by: 1) Offering unique, global professional development opportunities for promising younger individuals from around the world; 2) Helping them build their international professional experience and networks; 3) Advancing their topical knowledge and expertise in an area of Salzburg Global’s work; and 4) Integrating the knowledge, skills, and perspectives of a diverse group of next-generation leaders into the work of Salzburg Global and our partner organizations.

An investment of $750,000 or $75,000 per Fellow over the next 5 years will:

  1. Create 10 full-time (1-year) Impact Fellowships for younger diverse candidates from under-represented populations to work with Salzburg Global on program development and design, communications products, and research.
  2. Provide Impact Fellows with opportunities to work with Salzburg Global and partner organizations’ staff in Salzburg, Washington DC, and around the world to help design and implement globally-focused and inspiring programs.
  3. Enable tailored professional development and mentorship designed to help Impact Fellows navigate the next steps in their professional careers.

SALZBURG GLOBAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
$1,000,000

For 75 years, Salzburg Global Seminar has been committedto the personal and professional development of current and future international leaders. Our vision is to shape a better world by forging breakthrough collaborations to bridge divides and help organizations and change-makers achieve results at scale.

Salzburg Global Seminar was founded in 1947 with a transatlantic focus and primarily transatlantic Fellows. Soon thereafter, Salzburg Global began engaging African and Asian Fellows in the late 1940s, Middle Eastern Fellows in the 1950s, South Asian Fellows in the 1960s, and South American Fellows in the 1970s. Since then, our dedication to inclusive programs and our Global Fellowship has grown,
providing opportunities for professional development, intellectual inspiration, and the development of
international networks. For many of our Fellows, engagement with Salzburg Global Seminar’s programs is their first exposure to global networks, helping to launch their careers, connect them to international mentors, and provide access to global resources.

Through an investment of $1 million, we will endow 10 annual scholarships that will increase the number of younger diverse Fellows engaged in our programs; identify and engage promising younger leaders at the start of their careers; support the capacity of emerging global leaders from under-represented regions; and connect diverse young innovators with policymakers, funders, decisionmakers, influential media, and global networks.

This endowed scholarship program will:

  1. Support 5 annual African Fellowships; 3 annual Fellowships for indigenous communities; and 2 annual Fellowships for people with disabilities in Salzburg Global’s programs on Education, Health, and Culture and the Arts.
  2. Provide travel and housing for Fellowships at Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg, Austria.
  3. Connect these Fellows to mentorship and professional development opportunities across Salzburg Global’s network.
